"The knowledge of emptiness is superior to any other knowledge, The Teacher who teaches emptiness unmistakenly is superior to any other teacher, And the realization of emptiness is the very essence of Buddhadharma."
- Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, How to Transform Your Life
Join us for a week-long retreat on the profound and extremely beautiful and liberating topic, emptiness, the way things actually exist rather than the way they appear to exist. For us things appear to exist outside of the mind but when we look for these apparently self-existing things with wisdom we cannot find them. Why? Because the things we normally see do not exist. In this retreat we will meditate on the emptiness of the body, the self, and all phenomena. By absorbing our mind into the true nature of things in meditation, we let go of these misapprehensions and as a result we begin to let go of the basis of our internal tension, grasping and suffering. We are very fortunate to have this opportunity to meditate on the true nature of all things, emptiness.
The meditations during this week will be based on teachings from Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso's The Oral Instructions of Mahamudra.
