A very generous member of KMC NYC has offered to match up to $250,000 of others’ donations, doubling the value of (and merit accumulated by!) your generosity! A $100 donation is $200 for our Campaign.

KMC NYC runs on love, wisdom, class fees, membership and donations.

Buddhism has flourished across cultures and centuries – but it has also disappeared in places where its future wasn’t secured. In New York City, we are making sure it flourishes.

At Kadampa Meditation Center NYC, our mission is clear: to establish a permanent home for modern Buddhism in New York City, a home that will offer refuge, wisdom, and community for generations to come. As we approach the end of 2025, we’re asking you to be a part of making that vision real.

This is a pivotal moment. We are facing a significant balloon payment on our Center’s mortgage and your support now will not only help meet that financial obligation, but it can also help reduce our long-term debt. It will allow us to expand access to Buddha’s teachings across the city and beyond. We suspect you will agree that New Yorkers are in as much need now of real inner peace and happiness as ever, if not more so.

In practical terms, your contribution helps
+ maintain our City Temple for over 500 members and 50-plus teachers
+ keep class fees affordable for everyone
+ upgrade basic comforts (yes, including new chairs in the gompa!)
+ preserve a spiritual sanctuary in the heart of NYC.

And if all that weren’t motivation enough, a very generous member of KMC NYC has offered to match up to $250,000 of others’ donations, doubling the value of (and merit accumulated by!) your generosity! A $100 donation is $200 for our Campaign.

If you’ve ever benefited from teachings, community, or peace of mind at KMC NYC, this is your time to give back. We aim to raise $350,000 by December 31. Will you help us?

Buddha teaches that nothing lasts forever. But what if we could give a gift that at least lasts a very long time?
