Help Flourish Dharma in NYC
Becoming an active member of the KMC NYC sangha by donating your time to help with the running of our Center and branches (both in person and virtually) is one of the most meaningful ways to add a whole new dimension to your practice.
By working to improve and organize a Dharma center, we are working for all living beings and we are practicing offering happiness to others

We are a Volunteer-Led Organization
Kadampa Meditation Center NYC is a non-profit organization, relying strongly on the efforts of our volunteers.
Volunteering is a great way to share your talents or interests, have fun and help flourish Buddha's wisdom teachings in New York City. Plus, volunteering is a great way to meet and get to know other Dharma practitioners, and learn naturally about applying Dharma teachings to our lives
It doesn’t matter how small a task may seem, each contribution of your time is immensely meaningful.
Everyone is welcome to volunteer. You don't need a special skill or experience. We have many volunteer opportunities which can be undertaken by anyone without training, or minimal training, both online and in person. If you do however have a special skill you'd like to contribute, please let us know.
In terms of time, you can offer as little or as much time as you like. Each and every hour of volunteering counts. Let us know about your schedule and availability and we can find something to match this to our needs.
As we are a non-residential space, we aren't able to provide accommodation for people looking to volunteer. If you're looking for an exchange program, contact our upstate Temple and ask about their short-term and long-term opportunities.
Some of the Ways Our Volunteers Contribute
CLEANING
Cleaning the vestibule areas as well as the meditation rooms, and if you're game, even the bathrooms!
HELPING ONLINE
Most of our classes are offered via livestream which takes support staff in a variety of roles (no experience necessary)
ASSISTING WITH CLASSES
We are always in need of Greeters, Stewards, and help with iTunes etc
MAKING OFFERINGS
Changing the daily water offerings made on the shrine at the Center

If we think clearly we shall realize that all our present and future happiness depends upon our cherishing others
