The Healing Power of Love
This class is offered in person only
$10 per class, free for supporting members
Explore the simple, profoundly transformative daily practices of love which apply not only to romantic relationships but to all forms of connections in our lives. According to Buddha, love is not something you “fall into.” It’s a profound mind and one that we can nurture and grow. True authentic love is the most powerfully healing mind there is. In this series, we will be guided in various meditations designed first of all to enable us to let go of our self-limiting tendencies and instead to develop authentic self-love. On that stable basis we can then learn to open our hearts to others in a way that improves every aspect of our life. The more we nurture our natural ability to love, the more we will experience for ourselves its wonderful benefits, and the more we will be determined to bring that love to as many others as possible.

September 8: Love - A Spiritual Strategy for Healing

Unravelling the Hidden Causes of Anger
Is anger ever righteous? Has anger ever given you the happiness and protection that you want? In Buddhism, painful emotions such as anger are known as ‘delusions.’ They are called this precisely because they are delusional ways of seeing the world and distort our experiences. Delusions such as anger are completely unreliable states of mind, guaranteed to create unhappiness for ourselves and others.
In this series, we will use clear methods based on Buddhist meditation to:
Connect to anger's antidote - our happiness, patience, and love.
Identify the hard-to-see causes of anger.
Recognize the faults of anger without blaming ourself.
Apply practical methods in our daily life to reduce our anger and prevent it from arising.
By applying these methods and unraveling our painful mind of anger, we can remain peaceful and effective in even the most difficult situations. Could there be a more essential life skill?
