New Series: Flip the Script - How Meaningful Meditations Can Transform Your Life, Beginning September 22
$10 per class by donation, free for supporting members
Buddha is telling us that seeking happiness in external objects is like hitting our head against a wall. Happiness is a state of mind and it depends on inner peace, peace of mind.
“Although all living beings have the same basic wish to be happy all the time, very few people understand the real causes of happiness. We usually believe that external conditions such as food, friends, cars and money are the real causes of happiness, and as a result we devote nearly all our time and energy to acquiring them. Superficially it seems that these things can make us happy, but if we look more deeply we will see that they also bring us a lot of suffering and problems.”
– Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, How to Transform Your Life
Enough of seeking happiness in objects which we know can’t deliver the happiness we want. It’s time to flip the script. In Buddha’s teachings he laid out in a profound and exquisitely beautiful detail all the wisdom meditations for training our mind, which, if we put into practice, will transform our life and take us all the way to the enlightened state of a Buddha!
In this series, Julie will help us gain the conviction that we can transform our life through transforming our mind…and profoundly so! She will also help us understand how to navigate Geshe-la’s teachings so they become a daily companion to us throughout our life.
