How to be Happy Without Being Perfect

$10 per class by donation, free for supporting members

This class is offered in-person only

You might feel that in order to be happy, you need to also be perfect. Perfect at work, perfect with your friends, perfect with your family. Who came up with that idea? This way of thinking is demanding something from us that no one can actually fulfill. It is a path to feeling stressed and anxious, but not any happier.

Buddha taught that happiness is simply a state of mind within us. We do not need to go looking for it; it’s already there. What we need to do is learn how to connect to that natural source of happiness. In this series, we will learn methods based on Buddhist teachings and meditation to connect to our Buddha Nature - our indestructible potential for real joy. That’s the “perfect” that we need. Perfect happiness.

*Each class will consist of a 30-minute teaching followed by a 25-minute guided meditation based on the teaching. There will be some time for Q&A and tea/snacks.

Our general program classes include Dharma teachings along with guided meditations
These classes are suitable for both beginners and more advanced meditation practitioners
General meditation classes are given as a series, but can also be taken individually
No special clothing is required
No pre-registration is necessary
