HALF-DAY COURSE THIS SATURDAY WITH MARIA RAPETSKAYA: THE HAPPINESS FORMULA

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 7
10:00AM - 1:30PM + Q&A

It sounds too good to be true, but a “happiness formula” actually exists, and it is called the Four Noble Truths. This timeless Buddhist wisdom can be accessed by practitioners at any level to understand how to apply meditation to our daily life.

When we experience problems and setbacks we usually respond by feeling unhappy and developing painful minds of anger, depression and discouragement. As a result, we complicate our lives even more. Buddha’s teaching on the Four Noble Truths shows us how to break free from this cycle of unhappiness, by correctly identifying our problems and their causes. On that basis, we can discover what we need to abandon and what practices we should engage in to establish within our minds the path to permanent freedom and happiness.

Everybody welcome!

How far can your mind travel?

Mind can go anywhere in an instant. If we think of the moon, for example, our mind goes straight there. Our mind can also effortlessly go to the past and to the future. Why? Because the mind is completely unobstructed, it is boundless, limitless.

How far can our body travel? We can certainly go places with our body, but it has very real limits. To take it to the moon, for example, is virtually impossible. While we can take it across the world, even that requires enormous effort, including delivering it to an airport so it can be airlifted to our destination. And when it comes to the past and the future, our body simply has no way of accessing either one.

Buddha is a scientist of the mind. Using his teachings we learn how to actualize its extraordinary potential and in so doing, we gain the ability to liberate ourself and others from all suffering, permanently!

Medicine Buddha, The Healing Buddha or Buddha Doctor, functions to release living beings from outer and inner sickness. His body of blue wisdom light indicates that he is an emanation of the healing power of all the Buddhas; his left hand holds a bowl filled with medicinal nectar and his right hand holds a medicinal plant. Through relying upon Medicine Buddha with faith we develop a special power of body, speech and mind, which we can then use to help others through healing actions.

The international Kadampa Fall Festival is right around the corner. What incredible fortune we have to be able to connect with this transcendental doctor, receive his profound healing blessings, and create powerful causes to become just like him.

💙

Attend in person or online
with Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab | October 6 - 12

How big, would you say, is your mind? The size of your body? The size of your house? As big as New York City?

None of these!

Mind is boundless. The scope of our awareness has no physical limits whatsoever. Yet, we rarely – if ever – relate to it this way.

Using Buddhist meditation we can learn to identify with the vast, utterly flexible nature of our mind. This opens us to an entirely new reality in which we can come to experience a level of freedom and wellbeing we`ve most likely never before known.
