Experiencing the Illusory Dream-like Nature of All Things
Our annual Country Retreat, taking place this Labor Day Weekend in the beautiful setting of our upstate Temple, is a perfect opportunity to immerse ourselves in Buddha’s profound wisdom teachings on the true nature of things. Kadam Morten will explain and guide us in the profound Mahamudra meditations on emptiness and the nature of the mind, with a particular emphasis on how we can carry these liberating insights with us during the meditation break. Learning to relate to things as a mere appearance to the mind frees us from our ordinary limiting conceptions. Instead of feeling confined by our limited view we can experience our reality as one of boundless possibility in which the opportunity of transformation is always present. We abide as if we are in a lucid dream, free to transform whatever we are encountering into a beautiful and joyful experience on our path to enlightenment.
The weekend retreat will take place at the very beautiful Temple for World Peace in Glen Spey, at the Foot of the Catskills.
Nestled deep within the Catskills, about 10 miles northwest of Port Jervis, NY, is one of the six Kadampa World Peace temples in the world. Set on 82 acres of lush woodland, the Temple is open to everyone -- those wanting to make a day-trip and enjoy the nature trails and abundant wildlife as well as those looking to attend one of the many meditation courses or retreats hosted by the Temple.
