The Creative Power of Patience – Turning the Weakness of Anger into the Strength of Patience
This class is offered in person only
$15 per class, free for supporting members
On our journey along the bodhisattva’s path – known as the Six Perfections – it’s now time to take the second step: the perfection of patient acceptance. Patience is a powerful mind, capable of keeping us calm and focused in the midst of chaos and uncertainty. Equally fantastic, the practice of patience protects us from spiraling into anger, one of the weakest minds around.
Please join us for this illuminating look at how we can wield the creative power of patience to be kinder to ourselves and to others, defusing conflict with great ease and joy. We all possess this extraordinary inner strength. We owe it to our world to put it into practice.
Everyone welcome.

How to Live Joyfully and Confidently – A Special Event Public Talk followed by a five-week series
Often, we base our happiness and self-esteem on external factors: other people’s perceptions, our professional accomplishments, or our social popularity. Because these external conditions are constantly shifting, the confidence they provide is fragile, usually accompanied by an underlying sense of insecurity and anxiety. whereas true, stable confidence arises not from what we do, but from recognizing who we are.
Through guided meditation and mind-training, we will learn how to identify with this pure nature and potential. This spiritual self-confidence imbues our life with a great sense of purpose and joy, enabling us to skillfully and creatively transform our daily problems and difficulties into the very tools that help us progress toward our deepest goals.
These teachings and meditations are based on the timeless wisdom of Shantideva’s A Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life, a universally loved Buddhist masterpiece that reveals how to transform daily life into a spiritual path, as presented in Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s beautiful and practical modern translation.
