This series of online classes is available to anyone who would have intended to attend in person at KMC NYC if the Center was currently open.

Not a moment goes by when we don't want to be happy. Yet we are seeing so much suffering unfold in our world at the moment. Loneliness, feelings of isolation, worry about the future. Mostly our response is one of either hopelessness or denial, and we can see the results of these responses in our ever increasing addictions - to drugs, alcohol, distractions and escapism etc.

What we all need is to be able to find a place of peace, a shelter from the storm. This is where the practice of meditation comes in.

Buddha’s profound analysis of the nature and inevitability of suffering enables us to respond with the exact opposite of helplessness, a powerful positive energy to actually address our unhappiness. With a spiritual perspective, solutions become available. We can eradicate the inner causes of our suffering and thereby compassionately help others to do the same.

The state of the world can energize us to seize the opportunity to develop true happiness. Buddha’s extraordinary insight shows us how.

Kadam Morten has been teaching meditation for 35 years. Internationally renowned, he is the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center NYC.

Kadam Morten is a senior disciple of renowned teacher and author Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. He is the National Spiritual Director and principal teacher at the largest meditation center in New York City (NYC Kadampa Meditation Center). Kadam Morten is greatly admired as a meditation teacher and is especially known for his clarity, humor and inspirational presentation of Dharma. His teachings are always practical and easy to apply to everyday life. Through his gentle and joyful approach and his peaceful example, he has helped many people find true happiness in their hearts.
