Developing a Beautiful Mind
A mind of equanimity is a beautiful mind. An internal state of being that’s light, peaceful and naturally warm, kind and loving towards all. A balanced mind free of neediness to the people we like, free of aversion to the people we dislike, and free of indifference to people we view as strangers. In truth, labels – friend, foe and stranger – are impermanent and constantly changing even moment by moment. Yet we can grasp onto these labels as fixed. And our mind in turn can feel like a roller coaster ride, full of anguish, drama and perpetual agitation. In this half day course, we unpack together how our biases are created and through meditation create spaciousness and freedom to begin to relate to everyone with a balanced and accepting mind. This mind of equanimity is the solution to all of our problems. This beautiful mind leads us to appreciate all the people in our life, nourish those relationships and experience deep fulfillment and contentment. It is also a doorway to attaining the most sublime happiness and to be of the most benefit to others.
