Continuing our journey through Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s book The New Eight Steps to Happiness, we will spend these Summer Sundays focusing on the chapter that teaches the extraordinary practice famously known as Taking and Giving. This meditation, also known by the term tonglen, is a powerful and creative method to enhance our love and compassion, to transform adverse conditions, and to create strong causes for enlightenment. Although profound, this practice is eminently practical, and can be applied to all of our life’s concerns, enabling us to make even difficult situations enormously fruitful. It is also a famous healing meditation that has been used for centuries.
This series of talks and guided meditations will take us through the different aspects of this magical meditation step by step.
