The Art of Happiness: Buddha's Eight Tips for Thriving in Challenging Times

This class is offered in-person only

With so many difficult things happening in the world these days, it’s no wonder so many people find it difficult to be and stay happy. Depression and anxiety abound. However, according to Buddha, it’s not difficult at all to find happiness. In fact, it can be done in as few as 8 steps. What it requires is a change in the way we view ourselves and others, as well as in how we respond to the conflicts and hardships that arise in our lives. Based on the book “Eight Steps to Happiness,” this series will introduce us to eight inspiring verses which comprise one of Buddhism’s most popular teachings, Eight Verses for Training the Mind. Each verse will show us how to transform our mind from our ordinary self-oriented perspective into the loving, courageous and wise heart of a Bodhisattva, a being bound for enlightenment.

Our general program classes include Dharma teachings along with guided meditations
These classes are suitable for both beginners and more advanced meditation practitioners
General meditation classes are given as a series, but can also be taken individually
No pre-registration is necessary
No special clothing is required
