New Series: Finding Joy and Happiness in the Practice of Cherishing Others

Cherishing others is the best method to solve our own and others’ problems. Without problems we can be happy all the time. Geshe-la says that through this practice we can eliminate the ignorant mind of self-cherishing and self-grasping, the root of all suffering and problems. At the present time we are not so sure because if we were we would be doing it already. We will come to understand that if we cherish everyone we meet and
everyone we think about then our mind will be at peace all the time and we will be happy all the time. This means that we work to develop a mind pervaded with love and kindness.

In this series we will focus on the teachings found in Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s book, Eight Steps to Happiness based on the widely renowned Eight Steps to Training The Mind composed by Bodhisattva Longri Tangpa and 11 th century Buddhist master. Come along and GET HAPPY!
