Emptiness and Tantra
The Two Greatest Tools for Self-Transformation
Emptiness is the ultimate nature of reality. When applied to our self, or who we feel we truly are, we can gain direct experience of a liberating truth: that the way we currently conceive of ourselves, with all our inadequacies and limitations, with our notion of a fixed difficult past and an intrinsically anxiety-inducing future, does not correspond to who we are. By learning to abide in this understanding in meditation we can swiftly undo these self-limiting misconceptions, opening us to a whole new range of possibilities of who we are and who we can be.
The experience of Tantra, known as Buddha’s highest teachings, is the most direct and effective method to actualize our greatest potential. Having let go of our self-limiting conceptions through the insight into emptiness, we are now free to envision and create an authentic experience of our self that accords with the incredible truth of our Buddha nature, our limitless potential.
Through talks and guided meditations, Kadam Morten will introduce us to these two extraordinary tools for self-transformation, and explain clearly how understanding emptiness is key to the experience of Tantra.
This course which takes place on April 1 – NKT Day – will also be an excellent introduction to our upcoming Northeast Dharma Celebration, in which we have the opportunity to receive the Tantric empowerment of Buddha Manjushri.
