Developing Universal Compassion

What Happens When We Open Our Hearts

None of us lives in isolation. We are all inter-connected to our families, friends, strangers on the street and every other living being on the planet. It’s crucial for own well-being – and the well-being of the world – that we not only come to understand this but that we make the shift to opening our hearts to this reality. In fact, it is vital that we discover our truly deep capacity for great love and compassion. How else will we heal our world?
Geshe Kelsang Gyatso’s book, Universal Compassion, is a practical and inspiring text that lays out for us in plain language Buddha’s instructions for accomplishing this goal. In this series of classes, Katy will share passages from the book, offering commentary and explanation along the way and guiding various meditations that help us to experience a direct and healing experience of great compassion.

June 24: How to Love

June 24th will be the final class for this term. After June 24, this branch class is on summer break for July an August.
We will return in early September, when classes will resume on Monday nights (7-8:30) in a new location, to be announced over the summer. Stay tuned!
