Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be silent for a period of time in NYC? It is possible!
Experience a half-day retreat, meditation, and silent reflection in a peaceful environment.
A silent retreat is an unequaled opportunity to become aware of the peaceful nature of your mind. Through utilizing silence, clear and accessible instructions on how to meditate, and the support of meditating in a group, your practice will deepen tremendously.
This morning retreat will consist of three thirty-minute guided meditations, with thirty minutes of silence between each session to enjoy quiet reflection and allow your mind to go deeper into an experience of meaning and peace.
The last session of the retreat will include a discussion with time for a question and answer session to help you crystalize what you would like to bring with you from the retreat into your daily life.
Everyone is welcome. No meditation experience is necessary.

About Silence
Silence is not just about not talking; it is about developing an inner quality of stillness. In silence, we engage with the meditation object in a more intimate way. We stop ‘chatting’ about the Dharma from our mouth and start listening to the Dharma from deep within our heart which gives us a special inner experience of the teachings we receive. Penetrating insights arise, and since we can hold onto them with firm mindfulness, we find that Dharma experience pervades and nourishes our heart at a very deep level.
During the Session Breaks
Take time to relax in the atrium downstairs and carry your experience of peace by:
1. Nourishing yourself with a refreshing tea or drink and a healthy snack
2. Exploring our meditation book collection and contemplating passages
