“Please give me the light of your wisdom to dispel the darkness of my mind and to heal my mental continuum.”
These exquisite words are part of the Liberating Prayer, composed by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for the people of our modern world. This special prayer is the supreme method to develop faith in Buddha Shakyamuni, the founder of Buddhism in this world and our perfect example. Our faith in Buddha Shakyamuni is our spiritual life. If we want a flourishing meditation practice that transforms our life, we need to engage deeply and contemplatively with the essential meaning of the Liberating Prayer. We can admire Buddha as a guide and source of the teachings, and then learn how to become like him ourselves, bringing benefit to others in everything we do.
The event will begin with the blessing empowerment of Buddha Shakyamuni with Kadam Morten. An empowerment is a special ceremony with profound, guided meditation, a transmission of the mantra, and powerful blessings to inspire our spiritual life. Kadam Morten will then share how to meditate on the Liberating Prayer for our own and other’s benefit, and how to extract the paths of compassion and wisdom from this beautiful practice. Everyone welcome!
