Beginning this Sunday,, Kadam Matthew will teach an afternoon series at KMC NYC. This series is offered to everybody in person and members of KMC NYC online.

WISDOM IMAGINATION AND THE CREATION OF THE WORLD, SIX-WEEK SERIES BEGINNING NOVEMBER 10, 3:00 - 4:30PM

In Buddhism, we say “everything is created by the mind” … but how?

How does this world, appearing so vividly, come from our mind? Can our beliefs really change reality? How does our imagination function? How can our conceptual minds help us on the path?

In this series, Kadam Matthew will guide a detailed exploration into the process through which our mind creates our world. Relying on Venerable Geshe Kelsang’s profound explanations in texts like Ocean of Nectar and How to Understand The Mind, we can gain deep confidence in the possibility of creating a world of freedom for ourselves and others. With this confidence, our Lamrim practice will come alive, our contemplations will touch our hearts, and we will attain realization in this life.

Everyone is welcome. Some experience of Kadam Dharma is encouraged, but a strong interest in Dharma and a willingness to study will suffice.

The International Fall Festival 2024, held at the Temple for World Peace in Brazil has already come to a close. It was truly epic and those of us who were able to attend from KMC NYC are so grateful we had the opportunity to do so.

Often we have a perception of ourself as having a fixed identity that we really can`t change. We get stuck in our limited perceptions of ourself and then discouragement sets in making it increasingly difficult to feel optimistic about our potential, let alone applying effort to actualize it.

Join us tonight as we begin to explore a remarkable meditation that helps us change who we are at the very deepest levels of our being. This ancient technique is easy to practice but has profound implications. It teaches us how to destroy our negative tendencies that take us towards pain and suffering and turns this into beneficial energy that takes us towards the fulfillment of our deepest wishes.

DAY 8 ~ PRAYERS FOR WORLD PEACE
Working for World peace
Friday is an auspicious day. After a final meditation session practicing The Yoga of Buddha Heruka, there is a huge gathering in the Temple as it is opened to everyone to join in a truly global Prayers for World Peace. Many local people attend in addition to the international Festival participants, and it is simultaneously live-streamed around the world. How wonderful that thousands and thousands of people are praying together for peace in our world.

It is so wonderful to begin each day with meditation. Gen Sangden summarizes the main points from the teachings at the beginning of the session with great clarity and then guides everyone to a deep experience of compassion.
