How Not to Take Things Personally

Applying Emptiness to the Practice of Patience

So often in our interactions with others we find ourselves experiencing feelings of hurt, rejection, and not being heard that can lead to developing anger and rage towards others. Within Buddha’s exceedingly practical teachings on patience there is a special category known as ‘the patience of thinking about profound Dharma’ in which we apply the teachings on emptiness to our training.

In this day course, through talks, meditation and discussion, Kadam Morten will show how by applying Buddha’s extraordinary insight into ‘no self’ we free ourselves from taking things so personally. This in turn opens us up to a much more flexible and lighthearted way of responding to difficulties. Not only does this greatly improve the quality of our life, it allows us to transform problems and conflicts into opportunities for great spiritual growth.
