The Three Principal Aspects of the Path is a legendary brief poem composed 600 years ago by the extraordinary Spiritual Guide and founder of the New Kadampa lineage, Je Tsongkhapa. In merely 15 verses, Je Tsongkhapa distills the vastness of the Buddhist stages of the path to Enlightenment to three essential realizations. Gaining experience of these three, renunciation, bodhichitta, and the wisdom realizing emptiness, will give us the psychological and spiritual tools we need to confidently and joyfully transform every aspect of our life into the perfect path to freedom – the freedom of liberation and finally, the freedom of enlightenment.

Sanctuary of Clear Light
The Tantric Perspective on Emptiness
at the Temple for World Peace, Glen Spey

During this retreat, Kadam Morten will guide us into the liberating wisdom of Emptiness.

The retreat will combine guided meditations with talks, discussions and Q&As during the sessions. During the breaks there will be periods of silence in which to practice training in the teachings as well periods in which you can share experiences and connect with other practitioners. All of this in the powerful, blessed and beautiful environment of our Temple for World.

Freedom from Painful Emotions

In Buddhism, painful emotions are known as ‘delusions’. They are called this precisely because they are delusional ways of seeing the world and they distort our perceptions. Therefore, delusions such as anger, desirous attachment, jealousy, and deluded pride are completely unreliable states of mind, guaranteed to create unhappiness for ourself and others. Buddha taught clear methods – based in meditation – for recognizing these delusions and transforming them into healthier, reality-based states of mind. By applying these methods and dismantling our painful states of mind we can remain peaceful and effective in even the most difficult situations. Could there be a more essential life skill?
