Envisioning Pure Lands
A Birthday Celebration Mandala Offering Retreat for our Spiritual Guide.
Continuing our celebration of Venerable Geshe Kelsang’s 90th birthday, Kadam Morten will guide a mandala offering retreat, dedicating the merit we accumulate to Venerable Geshe-la’s long life. A mandala in this context is an imagined pure land, a world in which everyone is free from suffering, pervaded by beauty, harmony, and all wonderful things. In this practice we will spend time in meditation envisioning such pure lands and offering them to the Buddhas. This is a joyful and highly creative practice through we accumulate vast amounts of positive energy and good fortune, known as merit, which is the source of all our present and future happiness. Envisioning such pure lands is especially important right now when we are constantly bombarded with pessimistic and despairing views of our world and prospects.
Everyone is welcome to participate in however many sessions you wish.
