Ringing in the New Year in the Most Meaningful Way
January 22, 2019
Every New Year's Eve is a much anticipated event at KMC NYC. We like to start the new year off right - in just the way we mean to continue it…with a peaceful, positive mind and a loving heart.
First we take some time to celebrate and enjoy the one another's company. We do this over vegetarian hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and non-alcoholic beverages.
Then we head into the meditation room for some reflection time. Kadam Morten typically leads the evening, which starts with a brief introduction to the meditation practice of the Buddha of Compassion, followed by the practice itself. This takes us all the way into the new year.
We then dedicate our peaceful minds to the welfare of the entire world, and conclude with a non-alcoholic New Year’s toast.
Typically our new year's eve event is well-attended, with up to 300 guests joining us.
Our event usually opens for registration at the beginning of December. The cost is discounted for members and under $50 for non-members.
We hope you'll join us this year to ring in the new year...
